Unique adventure camp near Indian Peaks Wilderness in Boulder County, Colorado. Program emphasizes backpacking/survival skills with teens ages 15-18. Camp Sessions are 6 days / 5 nights long and include a 3-4 day backpacking trip. This is a high-quality, personalized program with just 4 staff and 20 campers per session.
Applicants must have BA/BS or equivalent experience, be experienced leading youth on backpacking trips, hold current Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification, Adult CPR, have strong safety management skills and be able to lead hands-on, experiential education. A clean driving record is required.
Pay is $500 per session, plus room & board, plus paid staff training. The 4 camp sessions are 6 days long with time off between each session. The summer commitment runs mid June through mid August.

Deer Hill Expeditions seeks experienced, motivated, and caring outdoor educators to lead wilderness expeditions and service projects in the American Southwest, Ecuador, and Costa Rica.
Responsibilities of Field Leaders: To ensure the safety and well-being of each participant and to lead expeditions that are fun while fostering participants' growth as individuals.
Specific elements include: teaching wilderness living skills, off-trail route finding, adjusting backpacks, fixing stoves, guiding loaded rafts through rapids, facilitating fun games and activities to a group, managing a top rope site or guiding a difficult discussion of the group's dynamics.
Qualifications: Previous experience leading groups in the wilderness. Experience leading and teaching rafting, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, mountaineering, canyoneering and/or service projects. CPR + WFR certification. Training from NOLS, OB, or college outdoor programs a plus.
